    YEAR 1 - FOUNDATION

The first year is a foundation year that focuses on:

  • The history of homeopathy
  • The principles and practice of homeopathy
  • The meaning of disease from a homeopathic viewpoint
  • The differences between homeopathic remedies and conventional medicines
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Practitioner development, repertory skills and first aid case taking
  • Remedies of the Materia Medica.

We teach the remedies of the Materia Medica interlinked with the medical sciences module. To assist our students to memorise these remedies we use colourful slides to bring the remedies to life.

The remedies that are taught during this first year will give students a valuable working relationship with first aid remedies that they can use in acute situations.

First year students are entitled to free membership with a major registering organisation, ARH entitling them to receive copies of their first class journal Homeopathy in Practice and reduced rates at ARH events

By the end of Year 1 students will be able to demonstrate:

  • A basic understanding of the principles of homeopathic philosophy
  • A first aid knowledge of a minimum of 50 remedies of the Materia Medica
  • A working knowledge of how to select and administer homeopathic remedies in acute situations

    YEAR 2

    The second year focuses on:

  • Expanding on the remedies of the Materia Medica

  • Their understanding of the principle of the law of similars
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • An overview of miasmatic influences relative to case taking

As with the first year the homeopathic remedies are interlinked with medical sciences as this enables the student to become familiar with remedies that have an affinity for the various systems of the body.

Having completed the anatomy & physiology modules students will have a firm knowledge base that will be built upon when they begin the pathology and disease module in year 3.

Students are encouraged to take out student insurance in preparation for live case taking.

    YEAR 3

  • The theory of suppression by conventional medicines and how it relates to the outcome of homeopathic prescribing

During the third year the teaching of pathology and disease is directed towards homeopathic methods and incorporates the use of homeopathic remedies in the treatment of named diseases. We also explore the theory of suppression by conventional medication and how homeopathy can assist in the body's healing process.

By studying remedies in their groups the student will become familiar with the subtle differences between the remedies and know when it is appropriate to chose one particular remedy over another in the same group.
